Collection: HISTORIC BLACK BEACH COMMUNITIES
Historic Black Beach Communities
This collection brings together the shores where Black families made room for themselves when segregation closed off the rest of the coast. Each tee honors a single community: Oak Bluffs and the Inkwell on Martha’s Vineyard, Chicken Bone Beach in Atlantic City, American Beach on Florida’s Amelia Island, Highland Beach in Maryland, and Virginia Key in Miami. These were places founded and sustained by Black entrepreneurs and families who built havens for rest and gathering when few other beaches would have them. The designs carry each community’s name and history, printed on soft triblend tees in a range of colorways, so you’re wearing a specific place and its story rather than a generic idea of the beach. It’s apparel rooted in real geography and real memory, made for the sand in summer and for holding onto that feeling the rest of the year.
